Marcus Turner is an Entrepreneur, Wealth Manager, Author, Speaker, father and a husband who simply believes in the unlimited potential of each and every individual. He believes that limits are an illusion and the only boundaries that exist are those that we set for ourselves. "An individual is only bound by his own limits and his own boundaries. He is not restrained by the universe or God, but by boundaries and limits of his own mind." Throughout Marcus' life he has shared his philosophies and life principles that many have found to be life changing.
At a young age, he was fascinated with business and the art of investing and just how closely related to an individual’s perspectives and beliefs it could be. Marcus saw it as a form of expression, as a way to communicate. No different than someone's cadence or style of dress or signature. He saw it as one may view a fingerprint; no two people have one exactly alike. Through proper strategy, planning and implementation one could introduce their ideas, concepts, and overall worldview. Speaking to others who view the world similarly and consistently finding other “like minded” individuals.
His grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Kirk, encouraged his intellectual pursuits and would listen to him speak for hours to his different philosophical perspectives. He would often read old newspapers just to find stories about businesses and became intrigued by business models. Marcus soon discovered that you could own a small piece of a company through buying stock. He thought often about what made one business successful versus one that wasn’t. He knew by the time he turned 11 years old that he would be a business owner, although he wasn’t sure what business, but he knew that he was destined to be an entrepreneur.
Marcus’ road to entrepreneurship started a year after graduating from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He started his first business while pursuing a career as a professional athlete. To continue a career as a professional athlete, he lived in Europe for 7 years, which gave him a broader perspective on people, business and the global economy. This also took him away from many distractions and provided him with a great deal of free time. While there, he continued to read and study all he could on business, investments and life. That’s when he first came across the book “The American Capitalist”, a book summarizing Warren Buffet’s life and business story, it captivated him and like the “Pied Piper” it hypnotically led him to the book, “Intelligent Investor “and from there to “Security Analysis”. These books as well as a few others helped shape his business and investment philosophies. From there he continued to read everything he could on Life, Business, and Investment.

In 2008, while working for a large financial services company; the stock market was in the midst of the greatest decline since the Great Depression. The office phones were ringing off the hook with concerned clients, looking for guidance on their investments. Many of his co-workers were making themselves scarce, not wanting to deal with many of the client’s fears, however, he sat and answered as many phone calls as he could and listened to the client’s concerns and frustrations. He literally attempted to calm their frustrations and reassure them that brighter days were ahead.
On the way home that night, he pondered the things he heard from the clients. He thought about how he could provide a better quality service, but it needed to be a quality service that place clients first; that allow employees to put the clients’ needs above the firm’s. Marcus knew he needed to build an organization that would think independently about investments. A group that naturally understood what true value investing was and what it could be. That night wasn't the beginning of Limitless Capital Management, but a culmination of a lifetime of experiences, thoughts, concerns and frustrations with the financial services industry. A year later, in the basement of my home he laid the foundation for what is now Limitless Capital Management.
For nearly a decade Marcus has helped clients address their financial concerns and develop sound strategies by focusing on each individual’s specific needs. With extensive experience throughout major shifts in the markets, Marcus has dedicated his career to delivering the personalized investment planning services his clients deserve.
Marcus A. Turner is the Chief Investment Officer and Founder of Limitless Capital Management, a private wealth management firm, focused on opportunistic value-based investing. Previously, Marcus was the Co-Managing Member and Partner of Cogito Capital Group LLC, a private investment and insurance planning firm focused on the safety and growth of their client’s assets. Since 2009, he has acted as Managing Partner of Cogito Capital Group, LLC. Prior to 2008, Marcus was a District Manager with ABX-AIR where he honed his skills and knowledge of valuing businesses and managing them.
Due to the successes at Cogito Capital Group and Limitless Capital Management, Marcus is now the Chief Investment officer of Limitless BLU, LP. Limitless BLU, is a global long/short hedge fund that seeks value-based opportunities around the world. He has assisted the creation and structuring of many small and mid-size businesses, where he sits on the boards and acts as an Adviser to the business owners.
Marcus A. Turner is actively involved in a variety of philanthropic endeavors. He is on the boards of two charitable organizations, Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia, and The Providence Board Room. Both organizations assist individuals in adjusting and adapting after a catastrophic event has occurred.
Marcus A. Turner was a collegiate athlete, a member of the Providence College basketball team from 1989 to 1993. In 1993 received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He played professionally for 7 years in Europe. He has lived in, Ferrara, Italy, Angers, France, Vienna, Austria, Helsinki, Finland, Moscow, Russia and Bilbao, Spain. Marcus currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his family.
